On February 1, 2010, Bryan Wempen, the founder of #DTHR hosted the very first show. This episode, “Everything HR,” was a pre-cursor of things to come. 

In the early days, and for many years after, the show was a live call-in show. Airing every day (at “lunch time”), guests and callers would “dial-in” to be part of the conversation while simultaneously keeping a robust back-channel alive on Twitter using the hashtag #DTHR.

After several years, Bryan was joined by co-host William Tincup and then, forming a trio, Nisha Raghavan joined the team. In subsequent years, the show added a number of regular co-hosts and/or fill-in hosts including Michael VanDervort, Crystal Miller-Lay and Dwane Lay. In 2018, Robin Schooling joined Michael and today, as a duo, they ensure the show remains in the top 3% of global business/HR podcasts.  

Drivethru HR is, first and foremost, a community…as it always has been. It’s a gathering place – the pub, the coffee shop, the lounge at an HR event – where like-minded people come together. We discuss the world of work, HR, Talent Acquisition, HR Technology, Leadership, and social trends and ideas. Our guests include CHROs of large global brands and HR practitioners working as a “Department of One” in SMBs. We talk to HR analysts and innovators, and we chat with founders of technology companies. We converse with employment attorneys and those who rail against the employment attorneys.

As we approach our 15-year anniversary, and close in on 1,700 episodes with 1M+ downloads (across all ptatforms) we thank YOU…our listeners and our HR community…for listening. We’re committed to keeping the show “on the air” because we firmly believe the work we ALL do is important…and WORTH discussing.
